Healthy Smoothies For Your Puppy (and You)

Last night on the way back from our walk, Gracie and I were cold and damp. It was just one of those nights when the sky can’t decide whether to rain or snow, and so gives us both at the same time. We stopped by Gone Village Eatery for a latte and I was so glad we did. Having a tasty - and nourishing - drink in hand is just comforting. Like eating chicken soup.

Gracie kept giving me looks when I was sipping my smoothie. When we got home, it hit me - why not make smoothies for both of us at the same time? I’m always looking for quick breakfast ideas and smoothies are definitely easy.

My top healthy smoothies for your puppy

Check out these healthy smoothies for your puppy. They’re simple. That’s a huge plus. They’re also healthy. Check. And delicious. Yup.

Pumpkin Spice Puppuccinos

Combine coconut milk, cinnamon, and pumpkin puree in a blender. Blend until smooth and delicious. Serve up some pumpkin spice puppuccino to your puppy.

Raspberry Goat Milk Smoothie

Combine frozen raspberries, goat milk, and a tad of nut butter in a blender. Whizz that raspberry goat milk smoothie until tastily smooth.

Use this recipe as a template. Substitute the goat milk for coconut milk, almond milk, or any milk you like. Use different fruits for your smoothie - papaya goat milk, anyone?

Doggy Eggnog

This is far healthier than what you can find at the grocery store. There’s no heavy cream in this doggy eggnog. There’s even some mashed sweet potato in the eggnoggy goodness.

Blend some Greek yogurt, baby food (I use sweet-potato based flavours for creaminess), water, and egg. If you like, leave out the raw egg. For extra holiday flair, top your creation with a gingerbread man cookie.
